We have been asked by our client to identify a best Sr. or Lead Java Developer for Marlborough, MA
Our client is a highly regarded company in the retail.
Title: Sr. or Lead Java Developer – Hedge Fund
Location: Marlborough, MA

Keys to this Position:
- Ideally we would like a Lead level candidate but we will also look at Senior level candidates that have the Aptitude to lead. As a Lead, they will be leading a team of 4-6 developers offshore.
- Technical Requirements: Strong Java skills including Web application development using JSP, AJAX, Spring and Hibernate. Relational database experience with Oracle PL/SQL. We are looking for this developer to do end to end development adn it would be 70% server side vs 30% client side development
- Nice to have: JMS, Web Services, HTML5, CSS3
- This individual will be building business facing applications that include the Hedge Fund console and external client facing website.
- The Manager is open to hiring via the WAVE for candidates that are not local.
Although this role is based in Marlborough, they will be required to occasionally attend meetings in Boston a few days per month.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on design and relevant development experience
- Strong Java development background with demonstrated experience in developing Web applications using JSP, AJAX, Spring, Hibernate, JMS, Web Services and other related technologies (HTML5, CSS3, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise in relational database technologies (Oracle) with strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills
- Working experience with Cloud based environment is desirable, but not required
- Working experience with mobile development technologies is a plus
- Knowledge of common design patterns and their effective use in the application
- Experience with, and demonstrated understanding of modern software development and testing methodologies
Non-Technical Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in problem-solving skills and delivery of quality solutions
- Proven ability to support multiple work streams simultaneously
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical and team oriented-environment
- A strong team player, with ability to work in collaboration across teams
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for solutions delivery for WHM and IPS business domains. This role requires a well-rounded technologist that can work with stakeholders to build consensus on vision and then materially lead high visibility projects through technical design, construction, testing and implementation. A Senior Software Engineer is expected to:
- Develop complex code components to meet complex business needs
- Lead delivery of high quality business solutions
- Interface and coordinate with the broad Information Services teams to ensure successful delivery
- Demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills with ability to handle multiple activities in a dynamic fast paced environment
Responsibilities
- Interact with Systems Analysts and business partners as needed, to gain understanding of requirements
- Work with application and data architects for solution design and approval
- Lead the implementation of business solutions in conjunction with the hands-on development
- Lead and establish effective processes for productive partnership with offshore technical teams
- Deliver complex baseline components and provide support and technical guidance for team members
- Ensure quality by conducting technical reviews and resolve issues as needed. Lead by example
- Be responsible for the overlap of business requirements with the application and technical architecture
- Track new trends and directions in technology, and determines potential impact to our organization
